Problem

The Multi-Jurisdiction Improvised Explosive Device Security Planning Program is designed to teach first responders how to properly react during a bomb crisis. They needed a training program that would simulate complex bomb and hostage incidents, so the first responders would know the proper steps to take to diffuse the events.

Solution

We created region specific videos that portrayed mock bomb and hostage crisis scenarios. These videos were used during day-long regional table-top exercises and were designed to train personnel from multiple jurisdictions how to coordinate with each other and respond to the situation in an organized and effective way. These videos are effective because they create a simulated scenario, allowing the response personnel to roleplay the crisis in a safe and supportive environment.
