Entry-Level Copy Editor

BLS is always looking for talented individuals to join our team. Whether you are ready to take your instructional design career to the next level or are looking to make a career change and trying to find that next step, there is a place for you at BLS.  Our employees come to us from a wide variety of educational and career Blake Learning Solutions is a busy instructional design studio that develops hundreds of live courses, e-learning products, and training videos each year for clients around the world. We have a variety of projects, including e-learning courses, scripts, government proposals, training materials, and manuals that require the careful attention of a trained editor. We are looking to build our team of proven editors who can become familiar with our clients, processes, and needs. The hours for this position are sporadic, with some weeks that are quite busy and some weeks with little work at all, so we are looking for people who have flexibility to help us support our clients without the work getting too burdensome for any one person. We are growing quickly, and we’d like to expand our network of editors who want to become a part of our team! but with the common traits that they love to learn and to solve problems. Who we are looking for:

  • People who are trained as editors and proud of your editor qualifications (bonus points if you have strong feelings about the Oxford comma or words like irregardless). This is an entry-level position, so if you are still building your resume, we would still love to hear from you.
  • People who are excited about the chance to earn money in a non-traditional job.
  • People who are okay with working non-regular hours or taking on last-minute projects occasionally.

How this works:

  • If you’re selected, we’ll set you up as a vendor (1099 contractor), and you’ll be on our shortlist of editors.
  • When we have a project that’s a good fit for you, we’ll reach out with project info.
  • We know you juggle other work and commitments, so you’re always free to say no to a project if you can’t take it on at the time. We’ll still reach out again with more work in the future!
